CHARGE REDUCTION

Charge reduction by using dry-expansion fed ammonia evaporators in cold rooms.

EXPERIENCED

Since 1990 Gordon Brothers have supplied over 70 low charge ammonia systems.

1990 – Since 1990 Gordon Brothers have supplied numerous custom low charge water or glycol chillers using either plate heat exchangers or special low charge for various applications, ranging in capacity from 150 kW to over 5MW.

1994– Gordon Brothers developed the first  EnviroPackTM fully contained ammonia chiller package in 1994 with internal scrubbing which has seen widespread use throughout Australia.

1996 –    Installed -45°C low charge system for plate freezer enclosure

1997 – Supplied equipment and evaporators for -22°C low charge ammonia coldstore

1998 – Installed low charge ammonia cold-store system for 12,000 m2 cool-room at 2°C, total system charge of 400 kg.

1998 – Developed low charge air cooled ammonia chiller for winery and dairy applications – chiller was installed and tested in 1999.

2000 – Installed 1200 kW EnviroPackTM in an office building for air conditioning loads

2007 – Smallest EnviroPackTM 120 kW installed for a petro-chemical storage application

2009 – Low charge two-stage ammonia system for condensing CO2

2010 – 5MW low charge ammonia water chiller installed in a remote site – total charge is less than 450 kg, with total ammonia containment and enclosure scrubbing system
